VOLUNTEER!

We are looking for skilled volunteers, interpreters, and demonstrators to join the Museum's all volunteer staff.

If you have knowledge of the Grayson county area at the Turn of the Century, or a skill used by the people who lived here then, you would be an invaluable asset to our organization.  We are looking specifically for the following skills:

  • Site Steward:   Get your hands dirty!   Assist with maintenance of buildings, fencing & perennial plants.     Assist with development of facilities needs assessment.
  • Assistant Museum Photographer:   Assists the Official Museum Photographer with photographic projects as   directed. This position is filled.  We are looking for alternates to substitute at our events when needed.
  • Restoration Specialist :   Are you a Mr./Ms. Fixit?  Have basic wood working and/or metal working     skills?   Both household and agricultural restoration projects available.

If you are interested in volunteering in these or other ways, please email us at matthewsmuseum@gmail.com
